Have you ever grown artichokes? I grow them here in my Virginia garden. I'm lucky enough that they overwinter here and grow as perennials, so I have quite a few of them.
Not only do artichokes taste great, but, if you don't harvest the buds to eat, they turn into absolutely incredible flowers. The flowers are huge and the most vibrant purple you'll ever see. My abstract artichoke print above is my version of an up close view of an artichoke flower.
